[Industry sources revealed] The value of the construction contract exceeds 3boracryptogame.200 million US dollars, with a cost of more than 40 million US dollars per ship. It is the first batch of methanol dual fuel 65000 dwt bulk carrier projects in China.

CSSC Huangpu Wenchong's move marks its entry into a new field of methanol dual-fuel bulk carrier construction, further consolidating its international leading position in green ship construction and expanding the company's market share in the bulk carrier field.

These bulk carriers were designed by Shanghai Shipbuilding Research and Design Institute. They have a total length of 199.9 meters, a width of 32.26 meters, and a depth of 19 meters. They are equipped with a 2*1200 cubic meter methanol fuel tank and a new type of shaft belt generator driven by the free end of the dual-fuel main engine.

Currently, the global shipping industry is actively promoting green alternative fuels to achieve the goal of net zero emissions by 2050. With the implementation of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme and the EU Maritime Fuels Act, ships fueled by green methanol have shown the potential to reduce carbon emission costs and help improve operational competitiveness.

CSSC Huangpu Wenchong is committed to green and high-quality development, focusing on green and environmentally friendly ship types, constantly innovating and exploring, and accelerating the transformation to green. In recent years, the company has successfully delivered multiple types of green ships, such as 1400-tank dual fuel tank ships, oil-electric hybrid official ships, 9500-cubic multi-purpose gas carriers, etc., and provided desulfurization tower installation services to global shipowners, methanol dual fuel ships have become an important business direction of the company.

Methanol fuel has obvious price advantages compared with LNG, with a carbon emission factor of 1.375 and a simpler modification process. The production and storage technology of methanol has become more mature and stable, enhancing its appeal as a ship fuel.

After the delivery of these methanol-powered ships, it will provide key support for the green and sustainable development of the shipping industry and lay a solid foundation for CSSC Huangpu Wenchong's market development in the global methanol-powered ship field and the expansion of the market share of bulk carriers.
