Twenty-three of the deceased were adults, and the remaining were children, the agency stated.

Most recently, a 19-year-old man drowned after rescuing two children who were drowning in Yeruu River in the northern province of Selenge on Sunday.

The agency warned the public to take extra precautions in the coming days as heavy rains are expected to cause rising river levels across most parts of the country.
